Meet the Martins

Jeanice and Lucas Martin knew exactly what they were looking for in a new home. With two adult-aged children on the verge of moving out, the parents of four were wanting to right-size into an approximately 2,500 SF home in a small, gated community with a great location in Lakeland.

Initially, they had plans of building. But, once their current home sold, they agreed to make a move in just three weeks. Since timeliness was key, they began to investigate existing homes for sale and new builds that were move-in-ready. With little time to renovate a home, they opted for the latter.

“We were really familiar with Southern Homes,” said Jeanice. “We have friends who work for the company and friends who live in a Southern Home, so we knew we could trust them.”

The Martins had driven past the Enclave at Harden community in Lakeland many times and decided to take a closer look.

“We immediately fell in love with the woods and the pond that are alongside the perfect home for us,” said Jeanice. “The Rockingham has the number of bedrooms and the square footage we were hoping for, and the layout works well for our family.”

The Martin Family’s sales person, Ashli Smith, helped make the home buying process seamless, and the Martins closed on their new home in three weeks.

After moving in, the Martins immediately noticed the positive effect of right-sizing.

“With a 4,000 SF home, everyone went to their own corners,” Jeanice explained. “Our new home is designed with more functional space that brings our family closer together.”

The Rockingham floor plan features a large kitchen that opens up to the family room and outdoor patio – where you can often find Lucas!

Jeanice joked, “Now we all actually see one another!”
